The third edition of Artupunktura, scheduled for October and November 2023, continues its mission of implementing art into public institutions, communities and various parts of the natural, urban and cultural ecosystems of Zagreb.
The first Artupunktura, whose initiation and organization was managed by Zagreb Tourist Board, was held in 2021. It was carried out in collaboration with numerous initiatives that inspired the creation of this platform with their artistic projects and activities in public urban spaces and communities. In 2020, those art projects and activities were the first human and artistic gestures dedicated to Zagreb following the devastating earthquake in the midst of the pandemic. The second, last year's, Artupunktura has matured in its social role of connecting art, the City and everyday life.
This year, Artupunktura intensifies and establishes its role, directed toward new visions and the urban ecosystem. A transition into a matured concept, mapping and communication is based on a top-tier artistic tradition of new progressive tendencies and globally relevant artistic movements that have emerged in Zagreb over the past century: from avant-garde and experiments in all artistic mediums and forms to new contemporary, radical and social artistic practices, performances and actions. This edition of Artupunktura will be the center of a number of events and projects, led by various organizations and associations, where a great number of artists will participate in different locations in communities and outdoor places across Zagreb.
Artupunktura reinstates Zagreb as a consistent and socially engaged location on the world map, serving as a global and local collaboration, exhibition and performance platform for experimental, discursive, ecological and socially engaged artistic projects. Follow us on our journey through art and tendencies that enable social and ecological changes, evoke unexpected reactions and generate new, inspiring and provocative artistic visions.
